Live Edge Benches, Cutting Boards, Serving Pieces

(802) 464-5296

In this section of our web store you'll not only find answers to commonly asked questions about our Live Edge and Natural Wood products (particularly our Live Edge Tables & Benches), but also information about our small "kitchen accessories" live edge cutting boards and serving pieces. And, find bits about our Wilmington, Vermont factory and store, our team of woodworking artisans, owner John McLeod, and Vermont in general. Some of what you'll find here is very serious, and some is simply fun. And yes, we have had a moose in our parking lot, experience hurricane flooding (in Vermont!), and snow so deep it took two days to get plowed out!

Question #1 - Martha from FL asks - Does the bark ever come off Live Edge products? How long does it last?

Donna, our Retail Store Manager answers.

Answer

Great question! After all, nobody wants live edge bark on their counter top or dining table to have to clear up. Nor does anyone want to find bark under their live edge "mud room bench" to have to clear up. The answer is, the bark on all our products is sealed with a proprietary coating that is food safe when necessary and otherwise completely durable. Your new live edge heirloom will last for years without a worry.

Question #2 - How do I care for my live edge cutting board?

Donna, our Retail Store Manager answers.

Answer

For this we like to keep it simple. Just wash in warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly. Please don’t ever soak it or put it in the dishwasher. Give it an occasional rub with a paper towel and some pure corn oil. Most importantly, ENJOY IT!
